Ingredients

1 jalapeno, thinly sliced

¾ cup white tequila (a decent brand)

½ of a watermelon

½ cup fresh lime juice

⅓ cup Triple Sec

1 bunch of fresh basil

Optional: salt, chili powder, and lime juice for salting rims of glasses

Place tequila and about 6 slices of jalapeno in a glass measuring cup and place in the refrigerator overnight.

Juice half the watermelon in a juicer or blend in a blender until liquefied. If you juice the watermelon you won’t have to pour watermelon through a fine-meshed strainer. Measure out 3 cups of watermelon juice.

In a large pitcher, combine watermelon juice, tequila, lime juice and Triple Sec. Mash the basil in bottom with a wooden spoon.

Fill a tumbler with ice and juice. Shake and pour into glasses.

Line glasses with chili salt, garnish with lime slices and jalapeno slices if desired.
